Grete's Great Gallop
This popular half-marathon race and kids' races celebrate the life and accomplishments of Norwegian running legend Grete Waitz (1953-2011), a four-time Olympian who won the New York City Marathon a record nine times. She served as chairwoman of NYRR Youth and Community Services and was a tireless promoter of fitness for people of all ages, everywhere.
